Motorcyclist, 33, dies after crashing on Waianae Valley Road

A motorcyclist died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision in Waianae Thursday.

The deadly crash occurred at the intersection of Waianae Valley Road and Mill Street at about 3:40 p.m.

Police said a Ducati motorcycle operated by a 33-year-old man was traveling northbound on Waianae Valley Road when it collided with a Toyota sedan driven by a 30-year-old woman.

The motorcyclist was taken in critical condition to a hospital where he died. Police said he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The Toyota driver did not sustain any injuries and remained at the scene.

Police said speed was not a factor. It’s unknown at this time whether drugs or alcohol were involved on the part of the motorcyclist.

This is the 50th traffic-related fatality on Oahu this year. The same number of traffic fatalities occurred at this time last year.
