The Honolulu Fire Department airlifted the injured woman to a landing zone at the Koko Head District Park, transferring her care at 10:36 a.m. to Emergency Medical Services personnel. She refused transport to a hospital.

The woman was hiking with her husband when she injured her right ankle about 100 feet from the summit.
