Lifeguards rescue 2 unresponsive men in their 60s from waters off different beaches

Lifeguards rescued two unresponsive people this afternoon at two different beaches on Oahu.

A 60-year-old swimmer was found unconscious offshore at Nanakuli Beach Park.

The 911 call was made at about 1 p.m.

Lifeguards brought the unresponsive man to shore on a rescue paddleboard.

They performed CPR and continued until Emergency Medical Services took over advanced life support.

EMS transported the man in critical condition to a hospital.

At about the same time, Ocean Safety personnel responded to an unresponsive snorkeler at Hanauma Bay.

The 68-year-old man was found about 20 yards offshore.

Lifeguards brought him to shore and performed CPR. EMS took over care with advanced life support. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
