Tonight, the two girls volleyball powers meet for the Interscholastic League of Honolulu championship at Kekuhaupio Gym. The match starts at 6 p.m.

Kamehameha coach Chris Blake has moved on since Saturday’s four-set loss to then-No. 2 Buffanblu, when he questioned officials after the match about at least a few calls.

"Officials are part of the match. Unfortunately, when it was tight, one, two, three calls went (Punahou’s) way," Blake said.

Punahou’s overall defense and offensive balance were bigger keys, but so was playing before a senior-night crowd of nearly 1,000 fans at home.

"The way we pulled each other together was a great outcome. I haven’t seen us do that so consistently yet, so that was great," said senior middle Brigitte Russo, who slammed eight kills.

"There’s still things we can fix. We have room to improve."

Radford plays role of David

With a win over Moanalua, the unranked Radford Rams are in the quarterfinals of the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red football playoffs.

Now Kahuku awaits. The unbeaten, top-ranked Red Raiders will be pent-up after a bye week.

"Now we go to Kahuku, see what they’re all about. They’re beatable, so we’ll see," said Radford two-way playmaker T.J. Reid, who accounted for three touchdowns in the win over Moanalua. Two of those scores came on streak routes downfield.

"Nobody can stop him in the state," quarterback Maika Ulufale said.
