Parnaby named pitcher of the week

Kaia Parnaby’s fourth shutout of the season led to the third Western Athletic Conference softball pitcher of the week selection of her career.

The Hawaii sophomore was recognized yesterday for her performance in UH’s 4-0 win over Louisiana Tech last Saturday. She tied a career high with 12 strikeouts while limiting the Lady Techsters to four hits in the complete-game victory. The first seven outs she recorded were strikeouts.

Parnaby won the award once last year and earlier this season after throwing a perfect game against Weber State.

Parnaby enters this week’s WAC series against Boise State at 11-3 with a league-best 0.99 earned-run average and 115 strikeouts in 912⁄3 innings.
