A patchwork of extraordinary gifts on display

The statewide Quilted Memories Hawai‘i Tour will begin Tuesday with a showing at the free 5th Annual Peace on Earth Concert at Hawaii Theatre. Four quilts from Hawaii and eight from the mainland will be displayed, each measuring 6 by 10 feet and each square telling the story of an organ donor.

The display, sponsored by the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii, will be set up in conjunction with the concert, which starts at 6 p.m.

Entertainment includes slack-key master Dennis Kamakahi, Hailama Farden and Puamana, Connie Kehaunani Kissinger and Ron Miyashiro. Other quilt tour appearances are scheduled for May 14 and 15 at Maui Mall in Kahului, May 20 and 21 at Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo and May 27 at Kukui Grove Shopping Center on Kauai.
