Beyond providing seniors with in-home health services, Ho‘okele Care At Home offers a range of programs to keep its clients active and engaged.

Established in 2010 by Ho‘okele Health Navigators, LLC, Ho‘okele Care At Home offers a concierge service that provides activities for its clients that range from outings to the theatre to exploring the Island’s cuisine.
The business also utilizes a variety of technological practices such as the iHealthHome system which can be used in conjunction with their wireless bluetooth biometrics.
The use of biometric monitoring, for instance, allows the company’s registered nurses and nurse aides to closely monitor the health of each client. “It also allows families to have transparency so they can actually see what’s going on in the home setting,” said Castonguay.
Clients can also enjoy a virtual concierge system allowing them to conveniently order a range of services at home.
This and other methods allow Ho‘okele’s clients to maintain a sense of independence. “We’re trying to give that back to them in an easy way so that they are maintaining control over how they want their life to be,” she said. For those deciding when the right time will be to seek additional care for an elderly loved one, Castonguay advises to plan early.
With a goal of reaching out to seniors before they are in a fragile state, she believes Ho‘okele’s services provide seniors with the means to live comfortably at home longer. “People need to think that these types of services aren’t luxury services,” Castonguay said. “They become needed services that enable you to be able to enjoy your life.”
