Furlough inmate fails to report to Hale Nani on Hawaii island

State deputy sheriffs and Hawaii island police are looking for a 35-year-old extended furlough inmate who failed to report to the Hale Nani Reintegration Center for his a scheduled check-in Thursday night.

Inmates in the extended furlough program live and work outside of the facility but must check in at various times throughout the month.

Daniel Abraham, who is classified as “community custody,” the lowest custody level, is serving time for first-degree assault 1, kidnapping and place to keep a firearm. Second-degree escape is expected to be added to his charges. He is scheduled for a parole hearing in June.

Abraham is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Abraham’s whereabouts is urged to call 911.
