Police search for Lihue bank robbery suspect

Surveillance video screenshots show the suspect in a bank robbery in Lihue today.

Kauai police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a bank in Lihue.

The robbery occurred at about 10 a.m. today at First Hawaiian Bank, 4423 Rice Street. Police said the suspect entered the bank and passed a note to a teller that stated he had a gun and demanded money.

He then fled on foot.

The suspect is possibly in his 50s and 5 feet 11 inches tall. Police said he was wearing a long-sleeved shirt and a light-colored cap at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 246-8300.
