Firefighters investigate cause of Hawaii Kai brush fire
Honolulu firefighters extinguished a two-acre brush fire in Hawaii Kai early today.
The fire broke out at about 1:15 a.m. near Namalu Loop. Eighteen firefighters responded.
Honolulu Fire Spokesman Capt. David Jenkins said firefighters brought the fire under control shortly after 2:15 a.m. and extinguished it by 5 a.m.
No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported. Jenkins said firefighters will return to the site later today to check for any flare-ups.
The cause of the brush fire is under investigation.
