Acura’s golf tourney will help Japanese

A fundraiser golf tournament called "Ai on Japan," presented by Acura of Honolulu, will be held Saturday at Ko Olina Golf Club.

The event, which will be followed by a banquet and benefit concert by Kalapana at the new Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, will benefit children affected by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

The "Ai" in "Ai on Japan" means "love" in Japanese. Because of close business and personal ties to Japan, Acura of Honolulu was moved to raise money for victims of the disaster for the next three years.

Proceeds will go to the Kid’s Heart Project, an initiative of Hawaii-based Kids Hurt Too, which offers grief and trauma recovery services to children in Japan.

Individual golf entries start at $375 and sponsorship packages at $1,200. Tickets for individual seats at the benefit dinner and concert at Aulani are $200.

Sponsorships, golf team entries, banquet and benefit concert tickets are available by calling 791-4617 or emailing acuragolf@gmail.com. Silent-auction items and monetary donations are also welcome.
