Top-ranked Baylor blows by Hawaii

Brittney Griner had 10 points and four rebounds in just 16 minutes and No. 1 Baylor easily defeated Hawaii 77-42 on Sunday in the final day of the Jack in the Box Rainbow Wahine Classic.

Kamilah Martin had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead the Rainbow Wahine (1-3) in front of a Stan Sheriff Center crowd of 1,408.

A 3-point play by guard Destiny King gave UH a 3-2 lead in the opening minutes.

Jordan Madden hit two 3-pointers as part of a 15-2 run and Makenzie Robertson came off the bench to hit thee from distance to help the Bears (4-1) take a 39-17 halftime lead.

UH finished with a 21-20 advantage on the glass in the first half thanks to nine offensive rebounds.

Griner played the first three minutes of the second half before calling it a day.

Robertson finished 7-for-8 from the 3-point line and had a game-high 23 points.

King added seven points and six rebounds for UH, which shot 30 percent (16-for-54) from the field.

Up next for Hawaii is the Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown beginning Friday.
