2 men arrested for alleged threats against bus drivers

Two homeless men are in custody after they allegedly threatened city bus drivers in separate assault cases over the weekend.

The first incident occurred Saturday night when a 29-year-old man allegedly threatened a bus driver in Waikiki. Police arrested him at 10:10 p.m. on Kuhio Avenue.

On Sunday, a 50-year-old homeless man allegedly threatened another bus driver causing a disruption in bus service near Kaimuki High School. Officers arrested him at 5:40 p.m. near the high school.

Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of intereference with a public transit vehicle, a class c felony that carries a maximum punishment of up to five years in jail and a $10,000 fine.
