Four Hawaii golfers qualify at Women’s Public Links

Four golfers with Hawaii ties qualified for match play at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship in South Bend, Ind.
Kimberly Kim and Stephanie Kono both carded rounds of 7-over 78 in today’s second-round of stroke play qualifying at The Warren Course at Notre Dame.
Kim, the tournament’s first-round leader, tied for seventh with a two-round total of 2-over 144. Kono tied for 15th another stroke back.
Punahou seventh grader Allisen Corpuz shot a 74 today to finish in a tie for 32nd. Kauai’s Kelli Oride shot her second straight 75 and tied for 46th.
The low 64 scorers qualified for the match-play bracket, which begins play on Wednesday. Fourteen-year-old Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand shot a 67 to finish with a 7-under 135 and win medalist honors
Moanalua graduate Kristina Merkle (155) and Punahou graduate Anna Jang (165) missed the cut.
