Das Racist is a joke.

The irreverent duo from Brooklyn has been followed closely along the festival and concert trails in recent months, creating buzz at the South by Southwest Music Festival. They made a name for themselves with stupid-smart raps that kicked off with last summer’s inane but hilarious “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.” Other fresh bits followed — “Chicken and Meat,” “Who’s That? Brooown!” and “Rainbow in the Dark,” mixing goofs with a smart, punkish edge and killer, hip hop-inflected sounds.

Himanshu Suri and Victor Vazquez (reportedly classmates of MGMT at Wesleyan University in Connecticut), already notorious and entertaining cut-ups on stage, get hypeman Ashok “Dap” Kondabolu to work up the crowd even more.

The guys’ latest project is the mixtape “Shut Up, Dude,” combining all of the aforementioned tunes.
