Traffic on Kalanianaole Highway affected by road work

Traffic on Kalanianaole Highway will be affected by a road improvement project that begins today.

This week’s work during the day will affect traffic in both directions from Lunalilo Home Road to Haunauma Bay Road through Friday. The construction will last from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The highway is also closed overnight in both directions on Kalanianaole Highway from Hanauma Bay to Halona Point from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The improvements include installation of centerline milled rumble strips, reflector markers, guard rails, mile post reference markers, additional centerline pavement markers, striping and signage. The project is expected to be completed in October. 

During the overnight closures, drivers are advised to use Pali Highway, Likelike Highway or the H3 Freeway as alternate routes.
