The average weekly wage in Honolulu County rose to $875 in the fourth quarter of last year, up 2.9 percent from the same period a year earlier, according to a report released today.
Nationally, the average weekly wage rose 2.5 percent to $942 during the same period a year earlier, according to the report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The 2.9 percent rise for Honolulu County was the 153rd biggest increase among 334 counties surveyed for the report.
BLS also reported that the number of people employed in Honolulu County fell by 3.2 percent to 435,000 in the fourth quarter compared with the year-earlier period. Nationally, employment fell in 325 out of the 344 counties.
