Soccer day at QB Club

The Honolulu Quarterback Club will feature two newly-appointed assistant coaches for the Hawaii soccer team tomorrow.

Jon Kiester and Vanessa Works join head coach Pinsoom Tenzing’s staff at UH. Kiester was the head coach for Missouri Science and Technology for the last five years and played at Hawaii Pacific. Works was the goalkeeper coach for UNLV last year and will work with the goalkeepers for the Rainbow Wahine.

Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. at the Maple Garden Restaurant with the program to follow at noon.

 

PacWest golf awards handed out

Senior Terence Daniels of Grand Canyon was named the Pacific West Conference men’s golfer of the year for the second consecutive season. Daniels finished as the 11th-ranked golfer in the NCAA II West Region and 46th in Division II.

Kahuku graduate and BYU-Hawaii freshamn Inoka Kahawaii was named the PacWest freshman of the year. Kahawaii finished second in the conference tournament in April and was named to the All-PacWest first team.

Also Marc Chandonnet of Grand Canyon was named PacWest coach of the year and Academy of Art sophomore Stuart Favretto was named PacWest newcomer of the year.
