Former Kaneohe resident Dean Wilson shot an even-par 70 today in the opening round of the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C.

When he signed his scorecard, Wilson was five shots off the pace and tied for 43rd. Half the field had yet to tee it up because the Castle High product was among the first golfers to tour the Sedgefield Country Club course.

Wilson carded four birdies and four bogeys. He began on the back nine and was as high as 3 over for his round before three birdies on his back nine left him at level par for the day.
