Police arrested a 26-year-old man who allegedly stole two cars and led police on a car chase from Schofield Barracks to Waipahu.

The chase began when officers noticed a stolen vehicle near Foote Gate at Schofield Barracks about 5:50 p.m., police said.

Officers lost track of the first stolen car. The suspect then allegedly carjacked another man’s vehicle in Wahiawa, police said. Officers located the second stolen vehicle and caught one of possibly three suspects on Pohu Street in Waipahu at 7:18 p.m., police said.

Police arrested the suspect, who has no local address, on suspicion of two counts of driving a stolen vehicle and second-degree robbery. Police said the man escaped from them last week in another incident and faces more charges of first-degree criminal property damage, driving a stolen vehicle, driving without a license, fleeing the scene of an accident, and two counts of first-degree assault on a police officer.
