Police arrested two suspected car thieves yesterday morning after they were found sitting in a stolen parked car while it was still running at a  Punchbowl home.

The car’s owner called police to say he spotted an unknown man sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, police said.

Officers found the 24-year-old man sitting behind the wheel of the car and another man, 34, who was with him admitted to hotwiring the car.

The two men were arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
