Rainbow Wahine rise to No. 5

The Hawaii women’s volleyball team moved up a spot to No. 5 in the AVCA Coaches Top 25 yesterday.

The Rainbow Wahine (10-1) are coming off two sweeps of Brigham Young.

The top four spots in the poll remained the same — No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 Penn State, No. 3 Florida and No. 4 Nebraska.

USC, Washington, California, Illinois and Iowa State round out the top 10.

 

UHH finishes fifth at golf tourney

Hawaii-Hilo finished fifth at the Wildwood Lodge Invitational in Lake Elmo, Minn., yesterday.

The Vulcans finished at 89-over 665, 51 strokes behind the winning school, Augustana (S.D.).

Nicole Aoki of UHH tied for 16th place at 18-over 162. She was 14 shots behind medalist Emily Kvidera of Augustana.
