No. 5 Hawaii sweeps Nevada

    Rainbow Wahine Brittany Hewitt scored a kill against Nevada during second set of Friday night’s match held at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Kanani Danielson put down 12 kills and Emily Hartong 11 as No. 5 Hawaii took 90 minutes to sweep Nevada tonight 25-19, 25-18, 25-20 in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Libero Elizabeth Ka’aihue had 22 of Hawaii’s 56 digs and Brittany Hewitt had three of the team’s four aces.

The Rainbow Wahine improved to 12-1 overall, 2-0 in WAC play.

Nevada (6-7, 0-1) got eight kills each from Kylie Harrington and Lindsay Baldwin.

Hawaii will make its first road trip of the season when it travels to New Mexico State for a match Wednesday.
