1. THREE AND OUT
» Situation: Hawaii 0, Fresno State 0, 13:43 remaining, first quarter, Fresno State ball third and 5 at own 32
» The Play: QB Ryan Colburn throws a short sideline pass to WR Isaiah Burse. Burse is immediately wrapped up by CB Jeramy Bryant short of a first down.
» Impact: On the first possession of the game, Fresno State does not make a first down and is forced to punt. Hawaii then scores on a six-play, 73-yard drive.
» Hawaii linebacker Corey Paredes: "We wanted to make a statement. We wanted to set the tempo from the start."

2. SHOVEL
» Situation: Fresno State 10, Hawaii 7, 0:37 remaining, second quarter, Hawaii ball second and 10 at own 46
» The Play: RB Alex Green catches a shovel pass from QB Bryant Moniz and goes 46 yards to the Fresno State 8.
» Impact: Two plays later, Moniz throws an 8-yard touchdown pass to SB Greg Salas for Salas’ second score of the game. Hawaii never trails again. Green goes on to rush 13 times for 96 yards and catch three passes for 69 yards.
» Moniz: "When he’s running like that it is harder for them to key on our passing game and they had to respect (Green) and his running."

3. RECOVERY
» Situation: Hawaii 14, Fresno State 10, 11:46 remaining, third quarter, Hawaii ball third and 10 at Fresno State 21
» The Play: Moniz rolls right and throws to WR Royce Pollard at around the 10. Pollard catches the ball and fumbles it at the 1. After it rolls into the end zone, Salas recovers for his third touchdown of the game.
» Impact: Hawaii scores on the opening possession of the second half for the first time this season and outscores Fresno State 21-10 in the third quarter.
» Salas: "I saw (the football) poke out. I wasn’t sure if Royce got in the end zone or not. I just jumped on it. Instinct tells you to jump on the ball, and the big dog pile happened."

4. PHYSICALITY
» Situation: Hawaii 28, Fresno State 13, 3:17 remaining, third quarter, Hawaii ball third and 2 at Fresno State 42
» The Play: Moniz completes a short pass to Salas, who cuts to the sideline for a 28-yard gain. At the end of the play he lays out DB Philip Thomas.
» Impact: On the next play Green runs 14 yards for his second of his three second-half touchdowns. Hawaii nets 472 yards in total offense and goes 3-for-3 on touchdowns from the red zone.
» Fresno State coach Pat Hill: "In the second half, we kept coming after them. They just made some big third-down plays and second-down plays. They’re really not a three-down team. They’re an explosive team on any down."

5. ROUTE JUMPING
» Situation: Hawaii 35, Fresno State 20, 9:41 remaining, fourth quarter, Fresno State ball first and 10 at Hawaii 43
» The Play: FS Mana Silva cuts in front of WR Jalen Saunders and intercepts Colburn’s wobbly pass and goes out of bounds at the Hawaii 26.
» Impact: Silva’s interception stops Fresno State’s last serious attempt to get back into the game. Hawaii then mounts another scoring drive, with Green scoring his third rushing touchdown. Then Bryant intercepts his second pass of the game and fourth in three games and returns it for a touchdown to complete the rout.
» Silva: "They were teasing me because I got no return yards. But I do what I can do to help."
