Furry fun at Dogtoberfest

Dogtoberfest is for the dogs — offering a full schedule of food, fun and events for the whole family, including humans, at the Hawaiian Humane Society at 2700 Waialae Ave. The society will offer a $5 microchip special from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, while the first 25 adoptions will be free, starting at 2 p.m. The society will hold a costume contest at 5:30 p.m. for both people and pets, and there will be an outdoor movie screening of "Marmaduke" at 7 p.m. Bring your own lawn chairs.
