Elderly woman critically injured by a bus in Waikiki
A bus struck and critically injured an elderly pedestrian this afternoon in front of the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki.
The pedestrian, a woman who appears to be in her 80s, was hit by what appeared to be a school bus, Emergency Services Department spokesman Bryan Cheplic said.
Paramedics responded to the 4:42 p.m. call and transported the woman in critical condition to the Queen’s Medical Center, authorities said.
Police shut down Kalia Road between Ena and Saratoga roads while police investigated.
