Police are looking for a suspect who robbed the Bank of Hawaii branch in Ewa Beach just before 11 this morning.

Police said the robber escaped in a 1980 Honda with a “homemade blue and gray” paint job.

Police caught someone near the Hawaii Medical Center-West parking lot just after the robbery who tried to escape while driving several times on the wrong way on Fort Weaver Road. The robbery occurred at 91-775 Papipi Road.

But police said that man was wanted on other charges and did not appear to be the bank robber.

The bandit, who did not use a gun in the robbery, was described as a man wearing a red visor, blue shirt and blue shorts.
