» The Play: K Trey Farquhar makes a 35-yard field goal.
» Impact: Hawaii is scored upon first for the first time since the season opener against USC. But Idaho’s 73-yard drive results in just three points as Hawaii’s defense stiffens in the red zone. Idaho gets beyond the Hawaii 30 just twice more in the game, resulting in a field goal blocked by Liko Satele, and a late fourth-quarter touchdown long after the issue is settled.
» Idaho coach Robb Akey: "The turnovers hurt us, but we didn’t do a good job finishing drives. We march all the way down there to start the game and settle for a field goal and then give up a touchdown to them on fourth down that we should have stopped."

2. TAKE IT AWAY
» Situation: Hawaii 3, Idaho 3, 2:49 remaining, first quarter, Idaho ball, second and 20 at Hawaii 48
» The Play: FS Mana Silva steps in front of QB Nathan Enderle’s pass at the Hawaii 34, intercepts it and returns it to the Idaho 48.
» Impact: Silva’s fifth interception of the season and 11th of his career sets up a seven-play drive capped by QB Bryant Moniz’s 10-yard touchdown pass to WR Royce Pollard — the first of six consecutive Hawaii touchdowns, four set up by or scored on turnovers.
» Hawaii coach Greg McMackin: "They have confidence now and are not afraid to go for the ball. … They don’t sit back and they’re aggressive. I think Rich Miano and Chris Tormey have done a good job with the secondary. Our D-line, we didn’t blitz very much because he was getting the ball out so fast, and we were covering well enough that we didn’t need to blitz much."

3. CONFIDENT CALL

» The Play: After a timeout, the Hawaii offense returns to the field. Moniz throws a pass to SB Kealoha Pilares at the line of scrimmage. Pilares cuts through three defenders and scores.
» Impact: A big momentum play as Hawaii decides to forego the easy field goal and go for it. Pilares’ 12th touchdown of the season ranks him third among receivers nationally. This drive is started by LB Corey Paredes’ third interception in two games.
» Offensive coordinator Nick Rolovich: "Just the guys we have, it gets into trust, it gets into love, it gets into having each other’s back. It’s not X’s and O’s anymore."

4. DEFENSE TO OFFENSE
» Situation: Hawaii 17, Idaho 3, 8:51 remaining, second quarter, Idaho ball, first and 10 at Hawaii 48
» The Play: NB John Hardy-Tuliau knocks the ball out of the hands of TE Daniel Hardy after he catches a 5-yard pass from Enderle. SS Richard Torres picks up the loose ball, heads to the right sideline and runs 57 yards for a touchdown.
» Impact: Hardy-Tuliau forces a fumble leading directly to a Hawaii touchdown for the second game in a row. In the second half he recovers another Idaho fumble that leads to a score. Torres scores his first touchdown since he was a quarterback at Kahuku High School.
» Torres: "I thought to myself: ball first. I made sure I bent my knees to pick it up. Once I picked it up, I took off to the end zone. It was a nice feeling. It’s been a while."

5. TOPPING THE CHARTS
» Situation: Hawaii 24, Idaho 3, 0:31 remaining, second quarter, Hawaii ball, first and 10 at Idaho 39
» The Play: SB Greg Salas makes a leaping catch of a pass from Moniz near the goal line.
» The Impact: On the next play, RB Alex Green takes a pitch from Moniz for the 1-yard touchdown and a 31-3 halftime lead. Salas finishes the game with 11 catches for 168 yards and moves into second place on Hawaii’s career receiving yardage list. He leads the nation in receptions and receiving yards this season, and is also the active career leader in both categories.
» Salas: "I’m not paying attention to that at all. I’ll look back at the end of my career and see where I fall. But we don’t go into a game thinking about what we have (statistically), we go into the game thinking, ‘We need to win this.’"
