Man charged with drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in Waikiki

Jack R. Mellon III
UPDATE:
Jack R. Mellon III pleaded guilty April 21, 2011 to the charge of unlawful imprisonment, a Class C felony, and the state dropped the sexual assault charges. He also pleaded guilty to an April 7, 2011, Class B felony charge of drug promotion.
Mellon was granted a deferred acceptance of his guilty pleas in both cases on June 29, 2011, for a five-year deferral period.
He was sentenced to 250 hours of community service and was ordered to write a letter of apology to the woman, who lives out of the country.
The court granted Mellon’s request for an early termination of his deferred acceptance of guilty plea, and it was terminated Nov. 8, 2013.
On Dec. 19, 2023, he requested to have his record expunged from the Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center and to convert his community service to a $2,500 fine, which was granted Dec. 20, 2023.
