Back in the day

Learn about the cultural history of East Oahu from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow when Maunalua.net screens new movies featuring area kupuna, archaeologists and community members. The event will be held at the Koko Marina Shopping Center Stage. Historical photos and documents also will be shared. Expert to discuss inspiration for Italian jewelry designs

Suzanne Napoleon, vice president of Roberto Coin, will present a collection of limited-edition pieces from the Italian jeweler during a holiday event at Couture Jeweller from noon to 5 p.m. today.

Napoleon will share her expertise on style, design and color for those who need a second opinion on making their holiday jewelry selections, as well as the inspirations behind each piece.

In addition to viewing the jewelry, direct from Venice, guests will enjoy handmade Italian cookies.

Canned food donation gets slipper discount

Scott Hawaii will be hosting its annual holiday sale and food drive from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday. Stock up on Scott footwear and get a 5 percent discount on the total purchase with the donation of canned food items.

Meats; tuna; meals such as spaghetti, chili and stews; soups; vegetables; and fruits are the most desired.

The event takes place at Scott Hawaii, 1212 Kona St., between Pensacola and Piikoi streets.

 

Spend $150 at Brighton, grab a tote bag set

Shoppers who spend $150 or more in a single Brighton purchase at the Ala Moana Center boutique through Dec. 10 will receive a gift of a Holiday City Tote and matching cosmetic case. There is a limit of one per customer, while supplies last.

Appraisals of jewelry offered at Blaisdell

If you’ve ever wondered about the composition of some mystery baubles in grandma’s jewelry box, now is your chance to get some answers.

Dale Cripps, vice president of the Hawaii Jewelers Association and jewelry appraiser since 1977, will be offering jewelry identifications and valuations at the Xmas Wiki Wiki One Day Vintage Collectibles and Hawaiiana Show taking place 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Blaisdell Center Hawaii Suites.

General admission is $4. Early entry admission at 9 a.m. is $15.

Cripps will do evaluations from noon to 3 p.m. at Table 44. A $5 donation will be accepted for up to three items, with all proceeds going to Easter Seals.
