Water temporarily cut off at Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio

Guests at the Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio hotel cannot flush their toilets today and are being asked to conserve water as crews work to repair the main water line coming into the hotel, general manager Kevin Batters said today.

He said repairs are expected to be made today and normal service will resume. Guests can use the hotel’s public bathrooms, Batters said.

The leak to the 6-inch line was discovered by hotel engineers a few days ago and repairs began today, Batters said.

Potential customers at the MAC 24-7 restaurant reported being turned away at lunch today but Batters said, "We didn’t turn any guests away. We have plenty of water for cooking. We seem to be running fairly well."

The repair work is being done through the hotel.

Honolulu Board of Water Supply spokesman Kirk Tseu said there have been no reports of problems to BWS water lines.
