A 53-year-old man with no permanent address died today after sustaining unspecified injuries at the Waimea State Recreational Pier, Kauai County said in a statement.
According to police, there is no reason to suspect foul play.
A visiting couple noticed the man was in need of medical assistance and notified authorities at about 10:30 a.m. The couple assisted the man until medics arrived.
Medics transported the man to Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be conducted.
The victim’s name will not be released until next of kin has been notified.
