Patten sweeps HPU in baseball

Patten University (Oakland, Calif.) swept a baseball doubleheader from Hawaii Pacific yesterday at Hans L’Orange Park.

Patten won the opener 5-2 and followed up with a 13-3 romp.

In the first game, Chris Houle went 3-for-6 to lead the way for the Lions (5-3). In the second game, Zach Plancich had two hits and two RBIs for the winners.

The Sea Warriors dropped to 1-3.

 

Hawaii-Hilo blanks Saint Martin’s

Hawaii-Hilo defeated Saint Martin’s (Lacey, Wash) 8-0 in a softball game yesterday in Hilo.

Christina Pedroza had a homer and four RBIs and pitched a five-inning, mercy-rule two-hitter for the Vulcans.

 

UCSD beats HPU in men’s tennis

UC San Diego edged Hawaii Pacific 5-4 in men’s tennis yesterday in Phoenix.

Austin West led the Tritons with victories in both singles and doubles.

The Sea Warriors’ Sebastian Bader and Ji Joon Heo won their doubles match, and both players also picked up singles victories.

» In the women’s match in Phoenix, HPU routed UC San Diego 8-1.

Zora Vickova, Celina Goetti and Aleksandra Stankovic powered the Sea Warriors with wins in singles and doubles.
