A 19-year-old University of Hawaii student was was charged with sexually assaulting a woman at Frear Hall on the Manoa campus early yesterday.

The victim, 18, is here from the mainland visiting friends, campus security said. She struck up a conversation with the man in the courtyard about 2 a.m. and then went back with him to his dormitory room, campus security said.

The suspect was identified with the help of the victim’s friends. Logan Anderson was charged with first-degree sex assault. He was released on $50,000 bail.
