Man arrested for allegedly robbing woman at Liliha bus stop

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery after harassing a 56-year-old woman at a bus stop in Liliha Thursday night, police said.

The incident began when the man, of no local address, sat next to the woman who was waiting at the bus stop about 11:15 p.m.

The man took an item from the woman, who immediately took it back. As she tried to call police, the man assaulted her and took her phone, police said. When the woman used a nearby pay phone to call for help, the man took the receiver out of her hand. Officers arrived and arrested the man at 555 N. King St. on suspicion of second-degree robbery and interfering with a 911 call.
