Four teens on a boat adrift in Maunalua Bay were rescued by firefighters this evening.

The boys had been surfing and found the engine wouldn’t start because of a problem with the fuel pump, said Honolulu fire Capt. Terry Seelig. They lost their anchor and were adrift when they called for help about 7:30 p.m.

A fire boat towed the 12-foot boat back to the Hawaii Kai Boat Harbor after 8 p.m.
