Search resumes for missing hiker on Maui
Maui firefighters resumed searching this morning the rugged terrain of Maliko Gulch in Haiku for a 29-year-old hiker missing since Friday.
The search for Tristan Brennan was suspended at 6:05 Sunday night due to darkness.
The man’s girlfriend reported him missing on Friday. He was last seen walking along a pineapple field between 3 and 5 p.m.
Air and ground searches, which included 20 volunteers and three Maui detectives, were conducted in the Maliko Gulch in eastern Maui from the ocean to Kaluanui Road on Sunday.
The fire department helicopter is not involved in today’s search, a Maui fire official said.
