Walesa’s injured son to leave hospital
WARSAW, Poland (AP) — The son of Poland’s former president Lech Walesa calls it a "miracle" that he survived a motorcycle accident and plans to return to his work as a European parliament lawmaker in February.
Walesa met with journalists on Thursday, on the eve of being discharged from a Warsaw military hospital where he has been treated since early September for massive injuries. Walesa used a wheelchair, although he is now able to walk with crutches.
The 35-year-old sustained injuries to his spine, ribs, pelvis and limbs on Sept. 2 when his motorcycle collided with an SUV in central Poland.
