Steven Hunt put down 16 kills and JP Marks added 12 as No. 13 Hawaii opened the 18th Outrigger Hotels Volleyball Invitational tonight with a 25-21, 26-24, 25-12 victory over Springfield at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Nick West was in on six of the Warriors’ nine blocks and Nick Castello had nine of the 31 digs. Hawaii (2-1) takes on Lewis (1-2) in Friday’s second match at 7 p.m.

In today’s opener, No. 3 UCLA (3-1) topped turned back Lewis, 27-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-18. The Bruins play Springfield at 4 p.m. Friday.
