Hawaii County police looking for two men in Kona store robbery

Hawaii County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men involved in a robbery Thursday afternoon of a Kona store.

Police said a man entered the Keauhou Store in Holualoa and forcibly removed an undisclosed amount of money from a cash register. A 34-year-old female cashier suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment.

A store camera recorded video of the robber and a man who appears to be standing lookout in front of the store.

They drove away north on Highway 180 in a white two-door Jeep Wrangler with a tan hard top. The Jeep is similar to a Sahara model.

Both men are considered dangerous and possibly armed. Police advise the public not to approach them.

Police ask that anyone with information on their identity or whereabouts call Detective Walter Ah Mow at 326-4646, extension 238, or the police non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
