Germany arrests alleged accomplice of neo-Nazis

BERLIN (AP) — German prosecutors say they have arrested an alleged accomplice of a neo-Nazi group that has been linked to the killings of nine immigrants and a policewoman over the past decade.

Federal prosecutors said Wednesday that the 31-year-old man, identified only as Carsten S. in line with German privacy rules, is accused of being an accessory to six murders and to one attempted murder.

The alleged founders of the Nationalist Socialist Underground group, Uwe Boehnhardt and Uwe Mundlos, died in an apparent murder-suicide in November. A third suspected member, Beate Zschaepe, turned herself in shortly afterward.

Prosecutors allege that the suspect arrested Wednesday was in close contact with the trio and provided them with financial support as well as a weapon.
