Police stopped a 56-year-old man who allegedly struck two vehicles on the H-1 freeway, according to an Emergency Medical Services transmission.
The incident occurred in the westbound lanes of the H-1 freeway at about 8:15 p.m. Monday, and police stopped the man on the Wilder Street offramp, according to police dispatch.
The man had been traveling about 60 mph, according to witnesses, and his car was heavily damaged, the EMS paramedic said.
When the police officer got him out of his car, he fell over, injuring his head and temporarily losing consciousness, according to EMS reports.
He was taken in serious condition to a hospital.
