Kaeo Aliviado and Pi’ikea Kitamura hit two-run singles as part of a six-run third inning to lead Hawaii to an 8-3 victory over Nevada on Saturday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

Jon Flinn (2-1) allowed one earned run over a career-high seven innings, striking out six to earn the win in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Hawaii (30-23, 10-8), which will be seeded either third or fourth in the Western Athletic Conference tournament, finished with a winning conference record for the fifth time in the last eight years and reached the 30-win plateau for the sixth time in the last seven years.

The loss dropped Nevada (31-23, 11-7) into a first-place tie with Sacramento State and potentially New Mexico State if the Aggies beat San Jose State on Sunday.

Should all three teams tie for first, the Wolf Pack would fall to the No. 3 seed due to the tiebreaker, forcing Nevada to open tourney play on Wednesday instead of Thursday.

All nine UH position players had a hit on Saturday.

The Rainbows leave for Mesa, Ariz., on Sunday and open tournament play on Wednesday against either Louisiana Tech or Fresno State.
