Police arrested a 26-year-old man who allegedly tried to steal copper flashing Wednesday from the storage room at the Aiea District Park.

A woman reported to police she witnessed the man allegedly trying to steal the copper flashing, entered a vehicle and left the area, police said.

A police officer in the area saw a vehicle matching the description of the man’s vehicle, and stopped the vehicle.

The woman positively identified the driver, and police arrested him for atempted theft, police said.
