4.1-magnitude quake rattles Loihi undersea volcano
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reports that no tsunami is expected following a magnitude 4.1 earthquake at the Loihi seamount south of Hawaii island.
The quake occurred at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Loihi, about 22 miles off the coast of Kau, rises to within about 3,000 feet of the surface. It is the youngest of Hawaii’s volcanoes.
