The Kauai Department of Water asked Kalaheo residents to reduce their water use for a two-week period while crews conduct repair and maintenance work on the Kalaheo Nursery tank.

The work is expected to be completed by the end of next week.

Affected areas include the mauka side of Kaumualii Highway from Wawae to Opu Road including Lae and Puuwai; Kikala and Kuli roads; and side streets off these roads.

Residents are asked to refrain from car-washing, reduce outdoor irrigation and take other steps to conserve water.
