Hotel worker arrested for allegedly failing to make cash deposits
Police arrested a 47-year-old Waikiki hotel worker for theft after the manager discovered the trusted employee was allegedly not making the cash deposits.
Police said the manager discovered that those deposits were not being made after the hotel’s accounting department reported it.
An internal investigation revealed that more than $300 had been stolen from Feb. 11 to the present, and a trusted employee was the culprit, police said.
The manager called police, who arrested the Pearl City man Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree theft.
The case is pending investigation.
