Rescuers are searching for a 56-year-old man who went missing while snorkeling off Molokini island Tuesday evening.

The man was last seen around 5:30 p.m. wearing a white rash guard and board shorts and went missing after he was seen struggling to swim.

Coast Guard and Maui County fire rescue crews were called to the scene at 5:51 p.m. and will continue to search the area via boat and helicopter.

Mariners in the area are asked to report any sightings to the Coast Guard over VHF marine radio channel 16 or (808) 842-2600.
