Man appears in court for allegedly sex assaulting woman over 8 years
A 35-year-old Nanakuli man made his initial appearance in Honolulu District Court Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman over an eight-year period.
Charles Inere-Hanohano was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault and six counts of second-degree sexual assault.
He is scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing in District Court on Thursday.
Police arrested Inere-Hanohano Monday morning and he was charged Monday night.
Police said Inere-Hanohano allegedly sexually assaulted the girl from Jan. 27, 2005 when she was in the seventh or eighth grade to June 28.
He was released after posting $80,000 bond.
