ORLANDO, Fla. » A sheriff says he believes two killers who were released from prison by bogus documents are still in the central Florida area.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said today the most recent information authorities have puts Joseph Jenkins and Charles Walker in the area. He says there have been tips of sightings, but he didn’t go into specifics.

He appealed to the public for help and said billboards are being put up.

Both men were serving life in prison but were let go within the last month when authorities said forged documents duped the Corrections Department and court system and reduced their sentences to 15 years.
